Lucky Girl Syndrome

Happy March y’all!! And of course, with March, comes St. Patrick’s day, and with St. Patrick’s day, we talk about luck.

So let’s talk about luck ☘️

For the past few months, Lucky Girl Syndrome has been a hot topic on social media, and when creators are talking about it, they often mention that a healthy dose of delulu was the selulu (if you are chronically offline, delusion is the solution).

What is actually happening, however, is that in pretending that they are happier and luckier, they are opening themselves up to see the opportunities that would make them happier and get them closer to where they want to go. It’s very much similar to the phenomenon where if you’re thinking about getting a new blue car, you’ll see blue cars everywhere. It’s not that there are suddenly more blue cars on the road, you’re just paying attention.

This probably isn’t news; you’ve likely heard about how practicing gratitude makes you more grateful, and how putting out a certain energy attracts that energy back to you. I want to help you take off your un-lucky filter, and put your lucky filter on. Here’s how we’re going to do that:

We’re going to point out everything that goes right.

A green light on your commute into work? Of course you got a green light, you’re you.

The coffee shop employee was nice to you? Heck yeah, it’s because you were so nice to them.

There was one open reservation left at the restaurant for girls night? Duh, you’re a lucky girlie.

The PDF guide is literally a planner sheet, where you just list three ways you got lucky. The bar is on the FLOOR you guys. Even if you have to write “didn’t trip up the stairs when walking into my apartment”, you are to fill out each spot this week.

Because chronic luck isn’t really luck, it’s consistent observation of what goes right. And, to be honest, a lot of things go right in a day (your shampoo didn’t run out when you took a shower this morning, go you), we’ve just got to get better at seeing them.
